WILL THESE FIT MY BATTERY?
These battery vent caps are what are called in the industry “Bayonet Battery Vents”. They typically fit all 6V and 8V batteries.

These DO NOT fit:
– 12V car batteries
– Batteries that have a single small square plate covering three cells (usually 2 plates per battery)
NOTE:

The widest part of the cell opening on you battery measures approximately
1.2″ / 3.0 cm
The narrowest part of the cell opening on you battery measures approximately
1.0″ / 2.5 cm
If you have an existing vent caps and can measure the dimensions…
The widest part of the bottom of the vent cap (i.e. the bayonet tabs) measures approximately
1.15″ / 2.9 cm
The narrowest part of the bottom of the vent cap measures approximately
0.9″ / 2.3 cm
If any of the above measurements are close or within 0.10″ these vent caps will form a tight seal and will not leak.
Do all Bayonet Vents fit all 6V & 8V Batteries?
Not always….If the fit is not precisely right, the vents may leak. This has a lot to do with the thickness of the washer and the thickness of the bayonet tabs. Only vent caps offered by Flow Systems have been tested and confirmed leak free.
What brand name battery will bayonet battery vent caps fit?
Bayonet vent caps will only fit some batteries from a specific manufacturer. It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. What does a Bayonet Vent Cap Look Like?
If you look at the underside of the vent cap, the part that inserts into the battery, you will see two characteristic tabs on opposing sides. These bayonet tabs correspond to two tabs on the inside of the cell opening. When you insert the bayonet vent cap into the cell opening and 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction, the tabs tighten against each other and lock it down to the battery.
